The Piper Cheyenne 400 LS |
 |
|
The Piper
PA-42-1000 Cheyenne 400 LS is a fast, twin-engine turboprop aircraft. First
introduced in 1983, there were only 41 Cheyenne 400's built.
This
comfortable and speedy aircraft
has been a favorite for corporate and charter aviation. The Cheyenne series is
known for its versatility, having the ability to fly in and out of a variety of
different size airstrips, on just about any kind of surface.
The Cheyenne's
pressurized cabin accommodates up to eight passengers comfortably.
 |
The Cheyenne 400 LS was built to compete
with Beech's successful King Air twin turboprop series.
The Cheyenne 400LS originally
designated the IV, is the performance model of the
Cheyenne line. In production from 1984 to 1993, it was
designated to compete with the performance of smaller
fanjets.
On December 17 1986 Gen. Charles E.
"Chuck" Yeager established a new world speed record in a
Piper Cheyenne 400LS from Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.
to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. |
